Berezan`

The first mentions concerns to XVII century. At 1616 the settlement was the property of prince Ostroz'kyi. Since 1648 it is squadron town of Pereiaslavs'kyi regiment.

The soviet emblem

It was confirmed at September, 9th, 1990 by city council. In an azure field with the wavy base is an or fortification with two windows and gules with argent merlons. On a wall's background is a sable mill wheel. Above the wall is a vert leaf of birch with a stork above two or sabres in gules sheathes. In a canton is blossoming branch of a chestnut of natural color in a gules field. In the chief or cartouche is the city name in the Ukrainian language, in it base are sickle and hammer.

Two sabres symbolize Berezans'ka squadron in B.Khmel'nyts'kyi, and also show, that the city was found in birchwoods on a place of a security cossack post.

Fortification with a wheel is a fragment of a small town of rest and entertainments, one of the best in area. Wheel is a symbol of the industry. The author is B.Shulevs'kyi.
