Bolhrad

It was founded in 1821 by Bulgarian settlers. In 1918 - 1940 it was under Romanian jurisdiction. Since 1940 the town has become part of Ukraine.

The emblem of the Romanian period

The emblem of the Romanian period was confirmed in 1932. In a gules field there was argent mill and on the dexter side an argent tree and on the sinister side an argent vine. Above a mill a or embatted belt. The shield is crowned with an argent mauerkrone with three embattlements.

The soviet emblem

It was confirmed at October, 30th, 1989. Shield per fess wavy by gules and azure. In the first part are or building with data "1821". In the second part is argent boat with oar. The sable chief is charged by the or city name.
