Zin`kiv

The first mention refers to 1604. Since the second half of the XVII century it was the squadron town of the Poltavsky regiment.

The emblem of the Russian period

 

 

The emblem of the Russian period was confirmed on the 4th of June 1782. In an azure field there was an argent horned moon and an or cross on it. In the upper corners there were two argent six-pointed stars.

B.Kene project

 

 

At 15.12.1864 B.Kene worked out a project of a new emblem of the town. In an azure field the argent cross on the argent crescent with its points up, accompanied two argent stars with six rays. In the canton there was an emblem of Poltavs'ka province. The shield is crown with an argent mauerkrone with three towers and frame with two or ears, which are twine with the ribbon of the Order of St.Alexander.
