It is found in 1960 by the construction of ore mining and processing enterprise.

In an azure field in the chief are three argent wavy fesses. At the centre of a board the lateral or sphere with a gules triangle on it. In a triangle are three vert pine branches. The heated pelletы mean basic production of ore mining and processing enterprise. The waves in the shield mean Dnipro river. The gules triangle is symbol of iron, raw material for which manufacturing in the city. Three vert pine branches mean man-made woods, which surround city.

The flag

 

 

The rectangular dark blue panel is divided into two unequal parts by a horizontal white strip. At the centre of the top part located is the image of the initial letter of the city name. On a background of a yellow circle is the letter "K", looking like swallow, and also reminds a Sign of Volodymyr Great State. Swollow is symbol of heat and well-being, courage and endurance. A yellow circle means basis of city existence, source of material and spiritual values. The white strip is symbol of Dnipro, on which banks city stands.
