Oster

It is situated on the banks of the river Oster.

The first mention refers to 1098 when Volodymyr Monomach has founded a town "on Vestri".

Since 1657 it was a squadron town of Pereiaslav regiment.

In 1655 king Yan II Kasimir granted the Magdeburg Right and an emblem - in a vert field there was a mural gate with three small towers with an or cross on the central one.
