Kahovka

The first mention refers to the March, 1791. The settlement belonged to D.Kylykovs'kyi. In 1840 it got the status of a town.

The soviet emblem

 

 

The soviet emblem was confirmed at October, 1970. There are crossed or sabre with rifle and or military cap above it and or gear with ear and electric arc in a gules shield. There are argent waves in an azure base and or word "KAHOVKA" in a brown chief. The authors is O.Ghar and Y.Zotov.

The modern emblem

 

 

Was confirmed at September, 30, 1998. In azure field with argent engrailed base are three or ears: with the deviation to the right, straight and to the left. There are three argent srars with four rays above it - one above two.
